Ethnicity, Religion, and Conflict in Jos, Nigeria

This survey experiment examines how tribal and religious identity shapes opinions towards violence and peacebuilding in Jos, Nigeria. Jos, Nigeria has experiences several incidents of ethnic and religious conflict in the past decade, and remains an area with significant tribal and religious divisions. The survey experiment was conducted during the summer of 2016, and the sampling technique involved randomizing geographic locations within Jos and surrounding areas. The project aims to make contributions to our understanding of ethnic conflict, particularly in cases where there are competing religious and tribal identities.
